Not all chili plants grow at the same rate. Some look small, skinny, or like they have “stopped growing” even though they have been given the same treatment. In the case of late-growing chilies, biochar from Pezano was tested as an improvement material for planting media to provide a more comfortable and stable root environment.

Biochar Helps Reactivate the Root Zone

Plants that grow slowly usually have roots that:

  • Underdeveloped,

  • Pressed on solid ground,

  • Lack of air circulation.

After Pezano biochar is added around the base of the plant:

  • The soil becomes looser,

  • The root chamber opens again,

  • Small roots begin to grow more actively.

This provides a recovery signal to the plant.

The Soil Is More Stable and Doesn't Change Extremely

Sensitive chili plants are often disturbed by:

  • Soil that dries quickly,

  • The ground quickly becomes muddy after it rains

  • The ground temperature is unstable.

Biochar Pezano keeps humidity balanced so that plants don't have to adapt hard every time the weather changes.

The leaves begin to expand after the media improves

One indication that chilies are starting to recover is changes in the leaves.
After trial:

  • New leaves grow wider,

  • Old leaves no longer wither quickly,

  • The color of the leaves is fresher and not dull.

This happens because the roots are again actively absorbing water in a stable manner.

The stem begins to strengthen and is no longer thin

Plants that are “silent” usually has small stems.
Pezano Biochar helps improve soil structure so that:

  • The stem grows stronger,

  • More consistent plant height growth

  • The plant no longer looks like a stunted bonsai.

Plants become more ready to enter the generative phase.

Growth Becomes More Equal to Other Plants

After 2–3 weeks, the chilies that were left behind showed development:

  • The height is starting to approach normal plants,

  • The number of branches increases,

  • More and healthier leaves.

This shows that improvements in planting media can compensate for lagging growth.

Conclusion

Biochar Pezano has been proven to help revive slow growing chili plants. By improving the soil structure and providing more comfortable conditions for the roots, plants can eventually catch up and grow more steadily.
